Nuqleus

Quadrant has developed a standalone interface unit capable of integrating new products with legacy host computer systems.

NuqleusNUQLEUS is based on an embedded CPU platform which is loaded with Quadrant designed application software and configured for the new product being installed, such as a replacement Image Generator.

Quadrant's NUQLEUS system provides a novel and innovative approach to interfacing new equipment with an existing computing architecture.

Each NUQLEUS unit contains an embedded processing system capable of receiving a data feed from an existing Host computer and adapting that data into a format compatible with the new equipment being integrated on a simulator or other legacy device.

By utilizing proven software designs, NUQLEUS enables the integration of new equipment at a lower cost and with less downtime than traditional methodologies.

  • Minimal interference with existing software
  • Reduced cost of system updates
  • Reduced project schedule & downtime
  • Maintenance free hardware & software
  • Web based interface pages providing access to configuration files
  • Supports multiple new systems integration via a single Ethernet connection with the host computer
  • Product support service providing easy access to product updates
  • Small form factor & easy to install in a 19" rack, computer cabinet or on a desktop
  • Adaptable for use in any industry

User Control Panel

An optional User Control Panel is also available which provides instant access to new system features (such as visual system controls in the case of a Image Generator Integration)

  • Wireless Tablet or 12" & 15" touch-screen optionsNuqleus Wireless Tablet
  • Standard Simulator IOS software & controls
  • Maintenance free hardware & software
  • No periodic Backup requirements
  • Compact Flash data storage
  • Plug and Play with the NUQLEUS unit
  • Can provide control of all new system features as a replacement or in parallel with an existing IOS
  • Can provide control of all enhanced new system features that are not supported by the existing IOS

All Operating System and embedded software is packaged onto a single compact flash module which is accessible from the rear of the NUQLEUS unit.

The NUQLEUS start-up sequence is initiated by a simple on/off switch that boots the OS and application software with no further operator input required. The embedded software also provides guaranteed system performance that is protected against inadvertent modification during operation.

A web based maintenance interface provides access to modifiable configuration files that can be edited in real time, enabling the NUQLEUS to quickly establish communication with a host computer.

Due to the innovative passive cooling system and solid state data storage media the unit is totally maintenance free including no requirement to perform periodic back-ups.

The optional User Control Panel (UCP) is installed in suitable location in the vicinity of the existing IOS & connects to the NUQLEUS unit via Ethernet and provides immediate access to all new system features in a standard IOS page format.

Prior to being delivered to site, the NUQLEUS unit and UCP are configured with the relevant pre-developed & tested software modules for the given integration task. Using these proven software designs Quadrant can provide efficient & repeatable system integrations while mitigating the risks normally associated with traditional integration tasks.

NUQLEUS units have been installed on numerous OEM's simulators providing the host interface for new Visual System Image Generators and Avionics updates up to EASA CS-FSTD(A) standard.
